Nathan Whitt was born on the 4th of July, and Independence is his middle name. He has been writing his own brand of music for over a decade. Nathan brings a personal, identifiable sound to the stage as a solo artist, or with his stellar band. Over time he has developed the “unique power to connect with the listener on a very personal level.”
Bred out of the classic singer/songwriter mold, Nathan Whitt combines his unique original material with the live performance of a soulful band and his trademark, danceable backbeat. Born in California and raised in Ohio, Nathan surrounds himself with an all-star band that includes session players and established pop/rock and r&b musicians. Together, they create an innovative musical formula that is a cross between pop/rock artists such as John Mayer and Gavin DeGraw and funk/jam bands like Robert Randolph and Little Feat.
With two hits on the National Top 40 Charts (1998 ‘Shadow Jumpin’ and 2000 ‘Charade’) and Five CD’s now under his belt, he has become familiar with success. Nathan has shared the stage with many national acts such as: Dave Matthews, Melissa Etheridge, O.A.R., Blessid Union of Souls, Howie Day, Ekoostik Hookah, Derek Trucks, War, The Jazz Mandolin Project, Galactic, Little Feat, Peter Frampton, Dave Mason, and Pure Prarie League, among many others.
Nathan Whitt’s music appeals to diverse college crowds, jamband fans, and casual listeners alike, bringing to the table a broad range of experience and exposure with different artists and styles. Nate is currently booking shows that allow he and the band to enjoy what they do. The love of music keeps them going…period.
